MEET FLORENT
Based in Montreal, Florent is an emerging artist.
A raw art where punk, skate, and Montreal’s techno energy collide and merge.
About Florent
Florent Duchesne has always been profoundly moved by that
indescribable sensation, that shiver, when encountering works of art
that deeply touch him. After exploring various mediums, he found in
his sculptures the truest expression of what he wishes to share. His
goal is not merely to create something visually pleasing but to convey a
personal story and genuine emotion.
Florent initially pursued studies in aircraft mechanics before transitioning to industrial
design. However, he always felt a calling toward the art world. The son of graphic
designers, he grew up visiting galleries and museums of all kinds from a young age. This
passion ultimately led him to fully embrace his artistic career, a field where he can express
his spontaneity.
He draws inspiration from figures like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Armand Vaillancourt,
whom he admires as models of staying true to oneself. For Florent, authenticity is
paramount.
Industrial Design
Florent holds a diploma in industrial design from Cégep du Vieux Montréal. This training is a major asset in his creative projects. With extensive technical knowledge of materials, the design of sculptures poses no limits for him.
Always in search of new challenges, Florent aims to combine his design background with his sculptural practice to create large outdoor works. His long-term goal is to respond to public art calls under the 1% for art program.
