An artist since forever, a professional only by societal obligation, Florent Duchesne gives us a glimpse of our own raw inner madness, letting us understand that an unexpected beauty can rise from it. Clearly influenced by skate culture and Montreal’s underground tech scene, spaces where everyone is free to be themselves without fearing, not the judgment of others, but the judgment of their own ego.

His technical training in product design and aircraft mechanics gave him the tools needed to carry his message.

Able to reinterpret concrete, a material that shapes so much of our daily lives, in a completely new way, he amplifies the contrasts at the core of his work. In such a short time, hearts have already been won: multiple exhibitions, interviews, live performances and more. A beginning that speaks loudly about Florent’s endless drive. Florent holds a diploma in industrial design from Cégep du Vieux Montréal. This training is a major asset in his creative projects. With extensive technical knowledge of materials, the design of sculptures poses no limits for him.

Always in search of new challenges, Florent aims to combine his design background with his sculptural practice to create large outdoor works. His long-term goal is to respond to public art calls under the 1% for art program.
